Clinical Circles: Supervision & Support for School Counselors

Experience Clinical Support in a Community of Peers

Independent school counselors often navigate complex, high-acuity student mental health cases while balancing the needs of families, faculty, and administrators. This immersive, skills-based workshop provides a structured and supportive space for counselors to experience clinical supervision in real-time, explore evidence-based supervision models, and build a network of peers for ongoing professional support.

Through guided case consultations and reflective supervision exercises, participants will:

  • Engage in experiential learning – Receive and provide peer consultation using structured supervision models.

  • Explore advanced clinical supervision frameworks – Strengthen case conceptualization and intervention planning.

  • Build a sustainable professional network – Develop lasting connections with colleagues in the independent school counseling community.

  • Learn practical strategies for managing high-acuity cases – Gain tools for navigating complex student, family, and school dynamics.

  • Prevent burnout and enhance resilience – Identify and implement self-supervision and self-care strategies.

A Unique, Experiential Approach to Supervision & Support

This weekend workshop is designed to go beyond traditional professional development by immersing participants in live supervision and consultation experiences. Counselors will have the opportunity to present cases, receive structured feedback, and apply intervention strategies.

✔ Reflective Supervision – Create structured, nonjudgmental case review spaces to enhance clinical insight.

✔ Systems Consultation Model – Develop strategies for intervening across multiple levels (student, family, faculty, administration).

✔ Parallel Process Supervision – Understand how school-wide dynamics mirror emotional experiences in counseling.

✔ Ethical Decision-Making & Crisis Management – Navigate complex dilemmas, risk assessment, and confidentiality challenges.

✔ Trauma-Informed Supervision – Address secondary trauma, moral distress, and countertransference in high-intensity cases.
